CENTERED COLLECTIVE
Meaningful work is hard work. Entrepreneurship, parenting, coaching, leadership, and anything else that is performance based. These things all require so much from ourselves. So how can we do the work we care about without losing ourself in the process?
The Centered Collective aims to answer that question. I believe that self-care is a skill and the better we get at it the more we can give ourselves to the things we care about (without having to sacrifice our own health and happiness).
I see it all the time and experience it myself. All too often I will bounce back and forth between grinding away with intensity and hitting the wall of burn out. It is possible to go about things differently. In a simple phrase, there is a more “centered” approach.
It’s not easy, but the solution can be found in the intentionality of serious self-care. This is not simply a day at the spa. It’s an ongoing practice to sharpen the skill. Tending to the body, mind, and nervous system in order to do meaningful work well.
